The Wichita Chapter of Executive Women International® (EWI)

Chartered on January 5, 1970, Mary Williams from The Coleman Company was the first president. Today, many of the charter firms still maintain their membership in EWI. These firms include:

Berry Companies, Inc.
Cessna Aircraft Company
Murfin Drilling Company, Inc.
Evergy, Inc. (formerly Westar Energy, Inc.)

The chapter has supported EWI programs throughout our 40 year history. We support the Adult Students in Scholastic Transition (ASIST), which awards a scholarship to an adult at a transitional point in their life. The Executive Women International Scholarship Program (EWISP) scholarship is awarded to a high school junior to assist with costs associated with college. Reading Rally promotes literacy among grade school children and for the last nine years, the Wichita Chapter has held our event at Colvin Elementary.

The Wichita Chapter holds monthly meetings throughout the year and meetings are scheduled generally on the third Wednesday of each month. Meeting schedules include:

Regular monthly meetings where the format varies but typically includes a speaker on subjects that are educational, motivational, inspirational, or address current issues facing our community.

Business meetings are held at least two times a year. Committee reports are given and matters requiring a vote are brought before the membership. Officers are installed at the September business meeting.

Firm Nights provide a forum for a member firm to highlight their business and provide an educational update to the membership on the firm.

Executive Night is held in August and provides a forum where we honor our firms/executives and provide an overview of the past year’s activities.
